The results of two excavations at very different locations in the medieval townscape of Biberach are being published in the volume at hand. Fresh insights into the beginning of the settlement, the development in the outskirts as well as into the first city fortification were gained by the excavation on the ‘Viehmarktplatz’, while the examination of the building ‘Marktplatz 7’ sheds light onto the building history and use of a late medieval town house in a central location between church and market, which in the course of its long history was used, among others, by a pharmacist.
