The Altdeutsche Textbibliothek [Old German Text Library] is the series of editions of German medieval texts with the richest history. Founded in 1881 by Hermann Paul, it has been edited by leading Germanists – Georg Beasecke, Hugo Kuhn, Burghart Wachinger. Since 2001, responsibility for the series has rested with Christian Kiening.In the meantime, the series comprises some 120 volumes, with an exemplary combination of closeness to the original manuscript(s) with ease of reading, philological accuracy with concern for university teaching. It includes recognised editions of “classical” authors from around 1200 – some with commentary – but also presents veritable editions of authors’ works (Notker the German) and high-quality new editions (Eckenlied, Heinrich von dem Türlin).

The series Studia Linguistica Germanica, founded in 1968 by Ludwig Erich Schmitt and Stefan Sonderegger, is one of the standard publication organs for German Linguistics.  The series aims to cover the whole spectrum of the subject, while concentrating on questions relating to language history and the history of linguistic ideas.  It includes works on the historical grammar and semantics of German, on the relationship of language and culture, on the history of language theory, on dialectology, on lexicology / lexicography, text linguistics and on the location of German in the European linguistic context.

Die Ammergauische Frülingslust des Historiographen und Dichters Hans Just Winkelmann (1620–1699) ist nicht nur „Oldenburgs reizvollster Beitrag zur Barockliteratur“ (Paul Raabe) und daher von regionalgeschichtlicher Bedeutung, dem Werk kommt aufgrund seiner ausführlichen poetischen Garten- und Landschaftsschilderungen zugleich eine Pionierrolle in der gesamten deutschsprachigen Literatur des 17. Jahrhunderts zu.In fünf „Tagzeiten“ lässt der Autor seinen Ich-Erzähler im Mai des Jahres 1654 die Residenzstadt Oldenburg und deren nähere Umgebung, den „Weltberühmten Ammergau“, erkunden. Das fast vergessene, nur noch in wenigen Exemplaren erhaltene Werk wird nach mehr als drei Jahrhunderten erstmals wieder im Druck vorgelegt. Der von Eckhard Grunewald herausgegebene Band verbindet den Reprint des Textes mit einem ausführlichen literatur- und kulturgeschichtlichen Kommentarteil mit Beiträgen von Hans Beelen, Ralph Hennings, Klaus-Peter Müller, Matthias Nistal, Paul Raabe, Michael Reinbold, Michaela Völkel und dem Herausgeber.
