Gottesdienst auf eigene Gefahr?
Die Feier der Liturgie in der Zeit von Covid-19
Produktform: Buch
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the range of measures
taken by various governments, large parts of society were almost
brought to a standstill in 2020. Even the religious services of churches
and other religions could only be celebrated, if at all, under
conditions that were previously unimaginable.
These circumstances raise questions in the area of Liturgical Studies
as a theological discipline. In 53 contributions (24 of which are in
English), Catholic – Latin and Eastern, Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican,
and Jewish authors from Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South
America, and from Australia and the Far East, provide insights into
the liturgical practices of their respective churches and communities
under these extraordinary conditions.
The international, ecumenical, and interdisciplinary breadth of the
contributions provide critical reflections on the experiences gained
from the still ongoing pandemic, and provide constructive proposals
for possible future times of crisis. In addition, relevant documents
are made available in an attachment and in an online appendix.
