This volume explores how ELF (English as a Lingua Franca) and BELF (Business English as a Lingua Franca) are adopted and adapted by users from different lingua-cultural backgrounds. Drawing on existing and novel cybergenres, it analyzes the customized solutions deployed to reconcile the opposition between the territorialization and cooperation principles.

The authors of the various contributions are concerned here to tease out the relationships between how space and place are described and how these contribute to the construction of identity or rather how the interplay between language, spatial practices, dimensions of culture, the discursive construction of place and identity is achieved.
