The planning of tamping tasks is an essential task of every railway infrastructure manager to guarantee safe train operation with sufficient comfort in an economic way. To fulfil the task of tamping scheduling automatically, the algorithm 4tamping is developed to create technically and economically optimised maintenance plans.
