The geographical index and index of proper names contains over 9,000 entries of people and places mentioned. The two-volume subject index combines a headword index with a keyword index and is arranged hierarchically in several layers. This simplifies the search for terms belonging to the same topics. Searches are further supported by numerous references to other search terms. The subject index is prefaced by an introduction to the edition which explains the status and authenticity of the source, and in addition provides pictures and a select bibliography on Joseph Goebbels.
