The series Studia Linguistica Germanica, founded in 1968 by Ludwig Erich Schmitt and Stefan Sonderegger, is one of the standard publication organs for German Linguistics. The series aims to cover the whole spectrum of the subject, while concentrating on questions relating to language history and the history of linguistic ideas. It includes works on the historical grammar and semantics of German, on the relationship of language and culture, on the history of language theory, on dialectology, on lexicology / lexicography, text linguisticsand on the location of German in the European linguistic context.

Diese Einführung informiert über die linguistischen Kerngebiete „Lexikon und Morphologie“, „Phonologie“, „Syntax“, „Semantik“ und „Pragmatik“. Sie erläutert Grundbegriffe, illustriert sie an Beispielen aus dem Deutschen und gibt einen Einblick in die linguistische Theoriebildung. Kindlicher Spracherwerb und Sprachwandel - zwei Gebiete, die von großer Bedeutung für ein tieferes Verständnis der menschlichen Sprache sind – werden in weiteren Kapiteln vorgestellt. – Mit Übungen, einem Glossar der wichtigsten Fachtermini, einer weiterführenden Schlussbibliographie und einem Sachregister. – Für die 3. Auflage wurde der Band umfassend überarbeitet und aktualisiert.

Das zweibändige Sammelwerk „PerspektivWechsel oder: Die Wiederentdeckung der Philologie“ zu Ehren von Klaus-Peter Wegera vereint im ersten Band sprachwissenschaftliche Beiträge, die dem im Titel formulierten Motto entsprechend linguistische Expertise mit philologischer Genauigkeit verknüpfen und Fragen der Erforschbarkeit und der Erforschung historischer Sprachstufen bzw. des Sprachwandels behandeln. Im ersten Teil des Bandes stehen Korpora historischer Sprachstufen im Vordergrund. Es werden Korpora und ihre Auswertungsmöglichkeiten beschrieben, methodologische Fragen gestellt und korpusbasierte Forschungsergebnisse zu flexionsmorphologischen und syntaktischen Phänomenen aus der historischen Wortbildungsforschung vorgestellt. Der zweite Teil des Bandes versammelt Beiträge, in denen die Kontextualisierung von Sprachwandel und -variation thematisiert wird. Die Teile drei und vier des Bandes enthalten Forschungsergebnisse der historischen Linguistik aus den Bereichen Morphologie und Syntax. Der Sammelband spiegelt den aktuellen Stand der historischen Linguistik wider, weist aber auch auf Perspektiven für die weitere Forschung und Forschungsdesiderate hin.
