A Finite-Volume Method for Coupled Numerical Analysis of Incompressible Fluid Flow and Linear Deformation of Elastic Structures
Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)
Abstract
A finite-volume method (FVM) for the coupled analysis of incompressible fluid flow and elasticdeformation of solid bodies is presented. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of elasticplate bending and fluid-structure interaction. For plate-bending analysis, three mathematical models are proposed to be used with the FVM. The adopted discretization and the segregated solution algorithmyield systems of linear algebraicequations suitable for iterative solution as well as efficient memory management. Strong coupling of the structural and the fluid-flow solver is achieved, while the equations for each continuum are solved sequentially. Computational grid within fluid-flow domains is adapted to the boundary deformation using linear interpolation, grid smoothing and elastic grid deformation. The method is applied to a number of problems on complex geometries with unstructured grids of different types, including polygonal (2D) and polyhedral (3D) cells. The results are compared
with analytical solutions, experimental data and numerical (finite-element) results from
literature.weiterlesen
