In addition to the preserved inscriptions of the Mayas on monuments and stelae, written testimonies exist, the so-called codices of Madrid, Dresden, Paris and México. Of the 4 preserved codices, the Dresden codex is certainly the most important. Many experts have assumed this for a long time, now it can be shown: the Maya "event" calendar did actually exist and can be found in the Codex Dresdensis on pages 58 and 59.
