Alex Müller
Vom Mähen zum Frieden
Produktform: Buch
Alex Müller experiments, explores and researches in order to answer the question of the importance of painting in the “now-time”. In doing so, she approaches the question by playing with the most varied art media in her “time-rhythms”: Through painting, drawing, installation, performance and lyrically, she repeatedly immerses herself into the field of activity of the narrative moment.
The book “Vom Mähen zum Frieden” (from mowing to peace) presents the artist's current cycle of drawings in the form of a corona diary. In 107 drawings it stores 107 days of preserved time. In them, the artist in her open language of forms and colors depicts experiences during the first lockdown in spring 2020 and of her father's cancer ultimately leading to his death. In doing so, she tries not to leave the field to suppression, but to face these two “extreme situations” with her possibilities through drawing. In the now, the yesterday and the future, she counters the virus, society and nature with her artistic attitude, which is characterized by melancholy and humor.
From “Vom Mähen zum Frieden” is accompanied by texts by the independent art historian Dr. Marietta Franke and Markus Mascher, curator of the Leopold Hoesch Museum in Düren.weiterlesen
