Ancient Chinese Bronzes
Terminology and Iconology
Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)
Nachdrucke von Aufsätzen zu Problemen der chinesischen Archäologie und Forschungsarbeiten zur Bedeutung der frühchinesischen Bronzen für Magie und Religion aus den Jahren 1951-1988.
Prof. Dr. Eleanor von Erdberg lived, studied, taught, and lectured extensively in Gennany, the United States, and East Asia. She is considered an expert in the field of Far Eastern art. Her main interests were Chinese archaeology and Asian architecture. Her research has led her into a great variety of subjects, ranging from Chinoiserie garden buildings to Chinese ritual vessels and Japanese tea bowls.
Like many of her fellow scholars surveying their work of a lifetime, Eleanor von Erdberg fondly believes that not all of her earlier publications are now obsolete. She has selected five essays, written in English between 1951 and 1988, for reprinting, hoping that they may continue to stand the test of time.
