Three years, 24 locations, 30 projects, over 60 participating artists. The 14th volume of the documentation series of KOERNOE contains all projects and outreach formats that could be implemented in public space in Lower Austria in the years 2020 to 2022 with the support of the Cultural Department of Lower Austria. The current volume follows on from previous volumes in the abundance of artistic positions that formulate wise, courageous, surprising approaches and perspectives for a wide variety of tasks, topics and challenges in public space. Thus, in the framework of two temporary group projects, the locations of Semmering and Traiskirchen, each with their specific history and present, and the social issues associated with them, were sensitively and complexly brought into view by international artists. In addition, areas such as culture of remembrance, revitalization of town centers, art on buildings, art in the context of health care institutions or landmarks are some of the topics for which outstanding solutions have been found through unusual, well thought-out and sustainable projects. The undoubtedly changed role and perception of public space during the Corona Pandemic is given attention through three essays - by Martin Fritz, Anton Lederer and Anne Glassner - from their respective perspectives.
