This publication stems from a colloquium on fortification structures in western Anatolia that took place in autumn 2019 in Dalyan/Kaunos. The reason for the symposium was the first systematic documentation and analysis of the Kaunian fortifications, thus making a scientific exchange and a new synopsis of the most recent research on western Anatolian fortifications seem worthwile. The present colloquium volume, that contains contributions to fortifications in Kaunos, Knidos, Priene, Selcuk (Keci Kalesi), Halikarnassos, Pedasa, Termera, Theangela, Alazeytin, Kaplandag, Kozan (Karasis) and Gadara (Umm Qays), contributes to the expanding state of knowledge of these so important buildings.weiterlesen
