This lecture by Herwig Blankertz, recently found in an archive, is a first approach to the topic of Blankertz book "Bildung in Zeitalter der großen Industrie" in 1969. Thus it makes an important contribution to the history of his work and provides an insight into the raw thinking of this important educationalist.
