BRAIN BODY MIND OSCILLATIONS IN SCOPE OF UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE

Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)

This book provides a new approach to the understanding of brain-body-mind-integration based on empirical data and concepts from physiology, psychology, physics, and philosophy. The book proposes a new framework to integrate these branches of sciences in a new multi-dimensional "Cartesian System". Processes of physics can be associated with processes of psychophysiology in two different levels. Firstly, almost in every living system there are physical frameworks directly acting on the biological processes. Rules of hemodynamics (as Hagen-Poiseuille’s rule), and propagation of electrical activity in nerves illustrate how the laws of physics govern biological processes. Secondly, scientists in brain research uses metaphors or principles from physical sciences, such as the use of Feynman diagrams, strategies of quantum mechanics, principles of nonlinear dynamics, entropy and synergetics to interpret their data. In this book examples of these two points of view (physics and biology) will be dealt with in order to emphasize how important a unification of scientific disciplines is for the advancement of general sciences. The theory of oscillatory brain dynamics is now positively recognized by a large number of neuroscientists, and this field keeps growing enormously growing. This fast development needs a new conceptual base and the approach of the new Cartesian System (or as we name it the "Nebulous Cartesian System") may have a reasonable chance to be useful. This new concept may lead to new empirical strategies in some branches of psychophysiology and neuroscience. The guidelines of the "Nebulous Cartesian System", which will emerge in this book may be also applicable by a number of other scientists. The possibilities of prediction and the proposed predictors by means of the Feynman Diagram and the Monte Carlo Method may open new possibilities not only to predict brain responses but also further understanding of brain functioning.weiterlesen
