Serial narratives never have a final ending: writers, filmmakers and fans may feel stimulated to continue. On the other hand, the apparent continuity of serial narratives is often undermined by rupture. This book pursues the figure of “broken narratives” from the beginning of the feuilleton-novel in the 19th century up to recent TV-series.
