Buddenbrooks im Behnhaus
Eine Ausstellung im Museum Behnhaus Drägerhaus
Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)
The white gabled house at Mengstraße 4 in Lübeck has
become famous as the setting for Thomas Mann’s novel
Buddenbrooks. Since 1993 a permanent exhibition in
the Buddenbrookhaus has been dedicated to the life and
work of the Mann family, in particular the world bestseller
Buddenbrooks, for which Thomas Mann received the
Nobel Prize in 1929. From the beginning of 2020, the
Buddenbrookhaus is closing its doors for an extensive
renovation of the building and its exhibition. The Buddenbrook
family of the novel is using this opportunity to
present itself for a few years in a Lübeck town palais,
the Behnhaus, for what would Lübeck be without the
Buddenbrooks?
No other place could be more suitably representative
for the literary inhabitants: The Museum Behnhaus
Drägerhaus vividly conveys a feeling for the world of the
Buddenbrooks and the Lübeck merchant society from
which Heinrich and Thomas Mann came. Here, in the
historical living rooms of the Behnhaus, the Lübeck novels
Buddenbrooks and Professor Unrat come alive.
Tony Buddenbrook knows everything about both
the Manns and the Buddenbrooks. That is why she herself
will personally guide you through the exhibition Buddenbrooks
in the Behnhaus. She tells of her inventor, Thomas
Mann, and his brother Heinrich, revealing some secrets
along the way.
Follow the Mann brothers into their childhood as the
sons of a Lübeck Senator. Let Tony tell you how Heinrich
and Thomas Mann rebelled against the stuffy bourgeois
world from which they came, and became famous writers.weiterlesen
