This study focuses on experimentally investigating the role of mixing in the re- ignition process by hot exhaust gas jets that might accidentally emerge from flameproof enclosures into a near stoichiometric hydrogen-air mixture. The main focus was laid on characterizing the initial outflow conditions and studying their influence on the flow field of the free jets.
