The idea to write this book emerged when Rev. Kohler tought Pastoral Care and Counseling at Mwika Bible School (now Mwika Bible School and Theological College). In order to provide an introduction into Pastoral Counseling an enquiry was made at first into the history of counseling in East Africa from the time before the missions arrived. The results are joined with contemporary concepts of Pastoral Counseling in Africa and also in the Occident in order to present guidelines for all clerical and voluntary staff to minister to God‘s people effectively. Rev. Dr. Günter Kohler was born in Tübingen, Germany. Theological studies at Augustana Hochschule, Neuendettelsau, and the universities of Tübingen, Zurich, Marburg and Erlangen. Additional studies in Pastoral Counseling in Berkeley, Ca.. Dr. theol. from Augustana Hochschule, Neuendettelsau. Rev. Dr. Kohler is a retired pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria; he tought in Mwika and was in the team of Clinical Pastoral Education in Moshi, Tanzania.weiterlesen
