This thesis examines Computational Aspects of Particle Methods in Environmental Fluid Mechanics. A graphics processing unit (GPU) accelerated solver for the computation of fluid dynamics problems is implemented and discussed. The restriction of the model to 2D results from the application to the complex processes that are prevalent in modern wastewater treatment plants. The solver is a highly efficient implementation for solving the governing equations of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method, a particle based approach for fluid simulation.weiterlesen
