This book examines the impact that corruption has had on human rights and fundamental freedoms in Kenya, as well as the degree to which a rights-based approach can buttress the traditional criminal law response and strengthen other anti-corruption initiatives. It also discusses the extent to which accountability for corruption may be integrated into the transitional justice agenda, in order to prevent a recurrence of ethnic-fueled conflict, such as the post-election violence witnessed in the country in December 2007.
