Diversity of Migrant Entrepreneurship in Varieties of European Capitalism

Post-Soviet Entrepreneurship in Austria, Spain and Hungary

Produktform: Buch / Einband - fest (Hardcover)

By bridging debates in comparative political economy, migrant entrepreneurship, and immigration regimes related to roles of entrepreneurship in post-Soviet immigrants’ integration across the European Union, this book reveals the link between a model of market economy, type of immigration regime, and diversity of immigrant entrepreneurship. The first part of the book constructs the framework of analysis. The empirical second part demonstrates that immigrant entrepreneurship arises at the intersections of the global economy, local mainstream economy, and the local common culture-based migrant community economy, and is rooted in the imperfections of the economies in the receiving countries and their economic and political institutional models.Comparing the findings of the empirical chapters, the last part of the book reveals that the more liberal a market economy is, the more it is inclined towards the jus soli immigration and integration principle and the more diverse types of immigrant entrepreneurship it can generate.   weiterlesen
