»Three Parent Babies – Mitochondrial Replacement Techniques under German Law« The first known »three-parent baby« was born in 2016. Since then, more children have been created in Europe using the so-called mitochondrial replacement techniques. The study concludes that the Embryo Protection Act prevents the application of these techniques in Germany.
