Václav Blažek is one of the most prolific diachronic linguists of last decades, active on the field of etymology of Indo-European, Afro-Asiatic, Chadic, Siberian, Uralic and other language groups of the world; he works on the field of lexicostatics and glottochronology, onomastics or interlingual contacts as well.
