Existential Inertia and Classical Theistic Proofs
Produktform: Buch / Einband - fest (Hardcover)
This monograph critically assesses six arguments for the existence of the God of classical theism, develops an innovative account of objects’ persistence, and defends novel arguments against classical theism. This book critically assesses the following theistic proofs: Aquinas’s First Way and Feser’s Aristotelian, Neo-Platonic, Augustinian, Thomistic, and Rationalist proofs. Many of these arguments have received little scholarly attention and the authors aim to redress this neglect. In particular, they bring to light novel and underappreciated problems for each of the proofs. In doing so, they shed new light on the ultimate explanation of the existence of composition, change, and contingency.
