The Mexican artist FRIDA KAHLO (1907-1954) holds one of the most important positions in 20th-century art. Her painting combines elements of Surrealism with influences from the popular culture of Latin America, but also allows the “Magic Realism” of Neue Sachlichkeit to shine through.
