The first section of the book self-consciously explores new and innovative methodological approaches to visual sources and archival materials.The category of “perpetrators” in the Holocaust and World War II has expanded in recent years, as new research explores the mechanisms of perpetration and collaboration, as well as the individuals, national groups, companies and political entities, among others, involved in the persecution of European Jewry. The last section of this volume concerns contested legacies of the Holocaust, and post-war commemorative practices, pedagogy and memorialisation.
