In October 2020, archaeologists made a sensational discovery in the Mainz customs harbour: a slightly smaller than life-size female figure with a naked upper body and hip coat made of sandstone, which is headless but otherwise excellently preserved and is one of the best Roman sculptures found in Germany in recent decades.
