This book analyzes the influence of population development and urbanization on the regulation of the household registration system in China. Based on other countries’ experiences of population management, it develops a general concept of household registration system reform in China. This provides a clear policy principle and theoretical framework for the reform, and presents a points system based on the principle of “equity of rights and obligations”.
