This thesis is concerned with individual and biographical factors which determine access to further education. By means of nine case studies, the author examines learning biographies and further education strategies and describes the significance of individual biographical schemes for the commitment to further education. In a next step, the author typecasts different further education strategies by means of a four-field model and describes the most favourable external learning conditions for the different types. The model raises the reader's awareness of the uniqueness of life stories and may be used by practitioners from the fields of adult education and personnel development to observe their own target group.weiterlesen
