This book gathers works based on both published and unpublished results detailing the successful application of processing and visualization tools for the subsurface. The book topic is Interactive Data Exploration for the Subsurface, where subsurface refers to both the solid earth and the water bodies of the earth. It is natural to cover both these areas as they have much in common with respect to how to perform data capture, how to analyze the data and how to visualize it. Interactive data exploration refers to interactive processing of data and visualization of data. This is an efficient combination of techniques, which has in the recent years become possible to perform due to hardware and algorithm developments. It enables the user to quickly get an overview of large datasets and perform detailed analysis.
