The image of the Church as “body of Christ” is a vision of faith which excludes any superiority, moral or political, for the ecclesiastical establishment.Truth cannot be seized, exposed and proven as some item safely parked in an owner’s hand. The self-conscious grip of a possessor must give way to a humble but confident finger, pointing in a direction, steady enough in itself, but apt to take all attention away from possible advantages of “me and my own camp”.Certain issues yet remain to be seen, and may do so for a good while yet.
