Iran is a continuous topic for global politics and the conflict-ridden Middle East, not only in the recent development: 40 years of Islamic Republic, nuclear treaty, oil, sanctions, repression against civil rights fighters, peace process, etc. In “Facing Iran”, over a period of many years, the artist as documentarist engages in the frictions with the so-called Western world and with modernity, but also in the finer facets and interstices of the country.
