What happens when the concepts of ‘masculinity’ and ‘femininity’ change, overlap, or even dissolve? Can they only exist separately from each other? What does it mean for people to let go of their learned gendered behavior? Can these concepts be considered to be independent from the body? The 1997 born Aline Pape has been asking herself these questions since 2019. As an assigned female at birth (afab), non-binary person, her interest is particularly motivated by the traditional image of ‘masculinity’.
