After last year’s hugely successful Alberto Giacometti exhibition, we are once again able to present an exhibition of international standing in Passau this year, thanks to the unassuming generosity shown by the collector Helmut Klewan (*1943), who has loaned us over 100 works from his collection: Pablo Picasso. The Klewan Collection. The occasion is the 50th anniversary of Picasso’s death (1892–1973), which will be observed in 2023 with a series of exhibitions in both Europe and the USA in his honour. as a teenager. Picasso is represented in his extensive collection of art, which has been judiciously assembled on the basis of groups of works, with seven hand drawings, a double-sided painted ceramic and more than 100 prints, which Helmut Klewan has made available
