In the major areas of health, education, care and nursing, housing, culture and social security, social infrastructures constitute a cornerstone of services of general interest. They pursue a wide range of social, socio-political, economic and regional objectives. Social infrastructures are thus central constituents of the everyday economy - and thus the foundation of a good life for everybody. Spatial planning plays a determining role in this context by creating infrastructures.The contributions of the present Yearbook Spatial Planning 2023 present current research results on the planning and effects of social infrastructures.
