Floods are common in Bangladesh, and they come in three types: fluvial (river flood), pluvial (flash floods and surface water floods) and coastal (storm surge). The first one can be both small and big. 'Small floods' are good for agriculture, but not the 'big floods,' which can bring life almost to a standstill.
