Satish Ranjan Khastgir (1898-1973) – a pioneer of radio science and atmospherics, was contemporary of renowned India physicists like C.V. Raman, M.N. Saha, and S.N. Bose. In U.K., S.R. Khastgir did PhD and DSc under the Nobel Laureate C.G. Barkla.
