The practical handbook is a guide to advising students who are struggling with the mathematical requirements of their subject. It centres on recording and structuring mathematically relevant topics, using advice cards, in order to be able to hold advisory or consultation discussions. The mathematical learning process is divided into four structure fields: "Motivation/emotion", "organisation", "study/understanding", "problem solving".
