Teaching and Learning Rural Livelihoods
A Guide for Educators, Students, and Practitioners
Produktform: E-Buch Text Elektronisches Buch in proprietärem
The book is divided into three parts, namely: introduction to rural livelihoods; synthesis of the present state of knowledge; and strengthening the knowledge action pathway. At the end of each chapter, a set of exercises is provided to bring about a deeper understanding of these approaches and their application in real-life situations. The book develops a connect between the developments in livelihoods thinking, livelihood approaches, and developmental practice. Rural development projects are often dominated by the usage of general planning frameworks and rural livelihood approaches are not adequately informing practice. The objective of this book is to bring the concepts, frameworks, models, and theories related to rural livelihoods under one cover and to function as a ready reckoner for professionals engaged in delivering rural livelihoods. Through this, the book offers a solid foundation to the teaching and learning of rural livelihoods in academia by offering a syllabus which the educator can build upon, and further builds a bridge between the science, policy and practice of rural livelihoods to shape a pool of better informed and equipped professionals. Special thanks to Himanshu Rohira for his contributions and assistance.weiterlesen
