Towers
Produktform: Buch
With the globalization of towers, the task of "building a tower" has become a challenge for architects around the world. Sergei Tchoban was very familiar with the history of architecture through his studies at the Repin State Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown, then Leningrad and now Saint Petersburg. This history is reflected both in his own designs and especially in his drawings. Drawing is generally a medium of reflection, more so than a medium of representation. As an architect concerned with the history and theory of architecture, Tchoban approaches the tower on different levels .Tchoban's interest in the multi-faceted phenomenon of tower building is evident in the abundance of drawings in which the architect depicts towers, real as well as or a combination of both. Drawing, with its ability to make the imagined vivid, proves to be the appropriate medium for Tchoban to express his thoughts on tower building. This is the theme of the book accompanying the exhibition of the same name.weiterlesen
