Stadtbausteine / Urban Elements

Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)

The concept of the course Interactions is not only to introduce first-year students to multiple spatial, cultural and social references and contexts for architecture and its cultural power. It is a radical statement to re-sort the repertoire of architecture in order to be able to realise climate neutrality and liveable places—to be able to talk, think and design in a new way about spatial and social density, city, and spatial quality. The focus is on Urban Elements as a concrete contribution to urban spaces. In contrast to standard models of urban density such as block edges or towers, the selection is intended to open up a broader spectrum of elements that - following the idea of „Low Rise High Density“ - offers suggestions for densification, which must be understood as an important tool for climate neutrality. Interaction therefore re-sorts repertoire, from Adolf Loos‘ House for Tristan Tzara in Paris, Le Corbusier‘s House Curutchet in La Plata, Sou Fujimoto‘s House NA in Tokyo, Luis Barragán‘s House Gilardi in México D.F., to Luigi Snozzi‘s Guidotti House in Monte Carasso), David Chipperfield‘s House in Corrubedo, Alison and Peter Smithsons‘ Upper Lawn Pavilion in Fonthill Estate, and Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo‘s House FCN 2009 near Noto.weiterlesen
