Internationale Beziehungen im frühen 18. Jahrhundert

Produktform: Buch / Einband - fest (Hardcover)

International relations of the early modern period were as essential as today, but research has until now been limited to specific topics or relations, often with a focus on for example British or French foreign affairs. This book however examines the relations of Emperor Charles VI and George II, King of Great Britain and Prince Elector of Hanover, from 1727 to 1735, covering the years between the Treaty of Seville 1729, the Second Treaty of Vienna 1731 to the War of the Polish Succession (1733-1735). The time period covered or studies of the connections between the courts of Vienna and London have been a lacuna of eighteenth-century history. The role of actors – monarchs, their courts and entourages, and diplomats –, conditions and conventions, as well as the content of the Imperial-British relations are analysed. The study offers a cultural historical analysis of international relations in the early eighteenth century on a broad basis of archival research.weiterlesen
