XML Programming: Web Applications and Web Services with JSP and ASP provides a fast-moving introduction to the XML family of technologies for programmers. Alexander Nakhimovsky received an MA in mathematics from Leningrad University in 1972 and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Cornell in 1979, with a graduate minor in Computer Science. He has been teaching computer science at Colgate University since 1985. He is the author (jointly with Tom Myers) of several books and book chapters, including: Javascript Objects, 1999, Professional Java XML Programming, 1999, and three chapters in Professional JavaServer Programming, J2EE edition, 2000 (all three from WROX), as well as books and articles on linguistics and AI. Tom Myers studied physics in Bogota and Buenos Aires before receiving his BA from St. John's College, Santa Fe (1975) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania (1980). A software developer and consultant, he has been working mostly on Java/XML projects for the past few years; some earlier research in parallelism and in functional programming languages seems to be coming back to life, within XSLT.
