Konzepte und Perspektiven für die Planungspraxis

Produktform: Buch / Einband - flex.(Paperback)

Temporal justice in the city Concepts and perspectives for planning practise Although there is widespread recognition that time (policy) should be an explicit element of urban policy, practice in this respect is not yet particularly developed – despite all the implicit significance of temporally relevant policies. The topic “space-time policy” was discussed in its manifold dimensions already few years ago. Nevertheless, it has again proved to be useful and necessary to make temporal justice the focus of a working party, especially in the context of increased debates on urban justice (social justice, spatial justice, environmental justice, the right to the city). This volume presents a number of specific papers that tackle this important theme from four perspectives: Normative considerations on time, space and planning Rhythm and beat as a structuring pattern of urban life Time-spaces in the city Lifetime and temporal experience in the city The final paper presents the link between these perspectives, identifies complementarities and contradictions, and develops an agenda for research and action. This agenda does not claim to solve the problems completely, but aims rather to encourage an increased awareness of time in planning and thus to contribute towards improving quality of life in cities.weiterlesen
