In view of demographic changes and the lack of skilled workers, how can more young people be encouraged to choose a company apprenticeship? The papers in this book were presented at the last conference of the Bavarian centre of Training Management and offer various approaches and solutions to a reorganization of vocational training. Based on the new jobs in the metal working and electrical branches, practical experiences are discussed as well as basic ideas from science and educational training policies. The fundamental approach used is to increase the capacities and efficiency of the dual educational system by introducing greater flexibility of course contents as well as training periods.
