Telemann published these pieces in 1737 with the title Galanterie-Fugen und kleine Stücke fürs Clavier. [Gallant-fugues and little pieces for the Clavier]. Each fugue is followed by three or four brief dance movements in the same (or a related) key and they are intended to be played like a suite.
