Unter Verwendung numerischer Methoden wurde die Rußbildung in einer laminaren und in einer turbulenten Diffusionsflamme sowie die Bildung von Eisenoxid-Nanopartikeln in einer mit Eisenpentacarbonyl dotierten laminaren H₂/O₂/Ar-Vormischflamme untersucht. Die jeweilige Vorgehensweise bei der Simulation wird beschrieben. Im Fall der turbulenten Flamme wird der Einfluss der turbulenten Schließung der einzelnen Partikelquellterme auf die Partikelgrößenverteilung gezeigt. Soot formation in a laminar and a turbulent diffusion flame as well as the formation of iron oxide nanoparticles in an iron pentacarbonyl doped near stoichiometric H₂/O₂/Ar-premixed flame have been investigated numerically. The particular modus operandi of the simulated test cases is described. In the case of the turbulent flame the impact of the turbulent closure of the single particle source terms on particle size distribution is shown.

Basierend auf einem Formalismus zur Simulation von mechanischen Starrkörpersystemen mit flächigen Reibkontakten wird eine Erweiterung auf Systeme mit Rollkontakten vorgenommen. Dabei wird der Fokus insbesondere auf die tangentiale Nachgiebigkeiten im Kontakt gelegt. Ein mathematischer Beweis der Konvergenz der Lösung der tangential elastischen Formulierung gegen die der starren wird dargelegt. Based on a formalism to simulate mechanical rigid body systems with plane frictional contacts, an extension to systems with rolling contacts is proposed. A special focus is put on tagential contact compliance. A mathematical convergency proof of the solution of the tangential elastic formulation to the rigid one is proposed.

Mobile robot motion planning in unstructured dynamic environments is a challenging task. Thus, often suboptimal methods are employed which perform global path planning and local obstacle avoidance separately. This work introduces a holistic planning algorithm which is based on the concept of state × time lattices with variable dimensionality and multiple resolutions. The adaptive planning method makes it possible to rapidly plan local maneuvers while still pursuing global optimality.

Since 1967 radioactive wastes have been disposed of in the Asse II salt mine in Northern Germany. A signifi-cant part of these wastes originated from the pilot reprocessing plant WAK in Karlsruhe and consisted of cemented NaNO3 solutions bearing fission products, actinides, as well as process chemicals. With respect to the long-term behavior of these wastes, the licensing authorities requested leaching experiments with full scale samples in relevant salt solutions which were performed since 1979. The experiments aimed at demonstrating the transferability of results obtained with laboratory samples to real waste forms and at the investigation of the effects of the industrial cementation process on the properties of the waste forms. This research program lasted until 2013. The corroding salt solutions were sampled several times and after termination of the experiments, the solid materials were analyzed by various methods. The results present-ed in this report cover the evolution of the solutions and the chemical and mineralogical characterization of the solids including radionuclides and waste components, and the paragenesis of solid phases (corrosion products). The outcome is compared to the results of model calculations. For safety analysis, conclusions are drawn on radionuclide retention, evolution of the geochemical environment, evolution of the density of solutions, and effects of temperature and porosity of the cement waste simulates on cesium mobilization.

Es wird ein autonomes Personenbeförderungssystem mit ausschließlich durch erneuerbare Energie angetriebenen Fahrzeugen konzipiert und im Gesamtsystem simuliert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen technische, ökonomische und ökologische Potentiale für Städte auf, welche durch die systematische Einsatzplanung eines an der individuellen Mobilitätsnachfrage orientierten elektrischen Massenverkehrsmittels entstehen können. Damit wird eine Methode zum Erreichen der Ziele der Energiewende im Verkehr vorgestellt. The work presents a systematic analysis of a large-scale integration of electric and autonomously controlled vehicles with corresponding infrastructure in cities. A framework is formulated assessing transport-related, electrotechnical and economical parameters of the operation of a highly efficient but comfortable road traffic based on renewable energies. Simulation results show potential to replace local motorized individual transport entirely and to reach the targets of the energy transition.

Gyrotrons are high-power mm-wave tubes. Here, the design, construction and experimental investigation of a 20 kW, 28 GHz gyrotron (2nd harmonic) are reported. This tube was designed to evaluate new emitters for future highly efficient and reliable fusion gyrotrons and for material processing applications. Following experimental results have been achieved in CW operation: 22.5 kW output power at 23.4 kV electron beam voltage and 2.23 A beam current with the world record efficiency of 43 %.

Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird eine leistungsfähige Klebverbindung für den Anschluss von Kreishohlprofilen im Stahlbau entwickelt. Insbesondere werden dabei die Randbedingungen und Anforderungen des Bauwesens berücksichtigt. Das Tragverhalten der geklebten Verbindung wird anhand experimenteller und numerischer Untersuchungen bestimmt und analysiert. Die Entwicklung und Validierung einer Methodik zur Prognose der Tragfähigkeit geklebter Anschlüsse stellt einen weiteren Schwerpunkt dar. A high capacity adhesively bonded joint of hollow sections in steel construction is developed in the scope of this thesis. In particular, the boundary conditions and requirements of the building industry are considered. The load-bearing behaviour of the adhesively bonded joints is determined and analysed with experimental and numerical investigations. The development and validation of a method to predict the load-bearing capacity of adhesively bonded joints emphasises additional features.

Die Aktivitäten Validierung und Verifizierung nehmen eine zentrale Rolle in der Produktentwicklung ein. Im Zuge von Validierungs- und Verifizierungsaktivitäten werden Versuche durchgeführt, um eine Prognose hinsichtlich des zukünftigen Verhaltens von Systemen zu erstellen. Die in dieser Arbeit entwickelte Methode leistet einen Beitrag zur Steigerung der Effizienz und Effektivität der Validierung und Verifizierung bei innovativen Fahrzeugentwicklungen. Validation and verification are central activities of product engineering. The aim of these activities is to predict and evaluate the future system behaviour of the product in development. This is achieved by conducting tests and interpreting the generated measurement data. This work introduces an ontology-based method for increasing the efficiency and effectively of innovative automotive development projects, especially in cases where an organisational knowledge base does not exist yet.

Das F+E-Vorhaben INOVUM des Ministeriums für Umwelt, Klima und Energiewirtschaft Baden-Württemberg setzt auf eine breite Kooperation mit Partnern aus Verwaltung, Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zum gemeinsamen Ausbau der behördlichen Umweltinformationssysteme. Schwerpunkte der Projektphase waren u.a. die Neufassung der Rahmenkonzeption Umweltinformationssystem Baden-Württemberg, servicebasierte Anwendungen, die Weiterentwicklung der Umweltportale, mobile Anwendungen und Kartendienste. The R & D project INOVUM of the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Baden-Württemberg relies on a wide cooperation with partners from government, science and industry to jointly develop governmental environmental information systems. In the focus of this project phase were, e.g. a revision of the framework concept for the Environmental Information System Baden-Württemberg, service-based applications, the development of environmental portals, mobile applications and map services.
