Um die gestiegenen Anforderungen an elektrische Antriebe im Hinblick auf Zuverlässigkeit und Sicherheit zu erfüllen, wurden in den letzten Jahren PHIL-Emulatoren für elektrische Maschinen entwickelt. Aufgrund funktionaler Einschränkungen können diese Emulatoren das Verhalten einer realen Maschine jedoch bisher nicht äquivalent nachbilden. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt an diesem Punkt an und zeigt auf, wie ein PHIL-Prüfstand konzipiert sein muss, um eine Synchronmaschine ganzheitlich nachzubilden. In order to fulfill the increased requirements for electrical drives in terms of reliability and safety, PHIL emulators for electrical machines have been developed over the past years. However, up to now, these emulators are not suitable to emulate the operating behavior of a real machine equivalently. This study starts at this point and identifies the ideal design of a PHIL test bench to emulate a synchronous machine holistically.

In dieser Arbeit werden klebstofffreie Beplankungssysteme entwickelt und hinsichtlich ihrer Anwendungsmöglichkeiten als Beplankung in aussteifenden Holztafeln beurteilt. Die Entwicklung unterschiedlicher Verbindungslösungen und die wissenschaftliche Untersuchung dieser in klein- und großformatigen Versuchen stellen dabei einen Schwerpunkt dar. Auf Grundlage der Tragfähigkeitsversuche folgen die Bemessung und die computergestützte Berechnung von Holztafeln mit klebstofffreien Beplankungen. Different glue-free sheathing systems made of solid timber panels are developed within the scope of this dissertation. These systems are then evaluated by their usability as sheathing in shear walls based on common structural design principles. Therefore, different shear connectors are developed and tested in small-scale and large-scale experiments. Using computational model for the timber-frames examined in the experiments shear wall test are simulated and a design proposal is developed.

The present work delivers a versatile, accurate and reliable wind tunnel facility that is particularly developed to test different flow control techniques for drag reduction in precisely adjustable test conditions. Skin friction changes of 0.4% are resolved, which is comparable to the most accurate reported studies in liquids. this high accuracy is verified through a comprehensive uncertainty analysis. Subsequently, various passive and active flow control strategies are investigated.

Standardisierung und Modularisierung bieten nicht nur in der Produktentwicklung viele Vorteile, sondern auch in der Produktion und der Produktionsplanung. Im industriellen Umfeld werden allerdings noch nicht alle Potenziale der Standardisierung und Modularisierung ausgeschöpft. Kern dieser Arbeit ist eine neuartige Methode, die alle Anforderungen einer standardisierten und modularisierten Produktion sammelt und dem Konstrukteur anschaulich zur Verfügung stellt. Standardization and modularization offers big advantages not only for the product development but also for production and planning departments. But industry often doesn’t utilize these advantages. This contribution introduces a new method which supports the developer to design a new product in order to fit to the standardized and modularized production.

In this work, the Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) approaches combined systematically to analyze and identify systems. The generalized Polynomial Chaos (gPC) expansion is applied to reduce the computational effort. The framework using gPC based on Bayesian UQ proposed in this work is capable of analyzing the system systematically and reducing the disagreement between the model predictions and the measurements of the real processes to fulfill user defined performance criteria.

Der technische Aufbau von Sicherheitstechnologie hat einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf ihre Akzeptanz. Um diese besser zu verstehen wird ein Akzeptanzmodell für die intelligente Videoüberwachung erstellt. Getrieben durch ein ausgewähltes Szenario, der datenschutzfreundlichen Sturzerkennung, werden akzeptanzsteigernde Technologien entwickelt, in einen Prototyp integriert und evaluiert. Die Arbeit vereint theoretische Überlegungen zur Akzeptanz von Videoüberwachung mit deren gezielten Entwicklung. The technical design of security systems has a high impact on its acceptance. To understand the influencing factors, an acceptance model for smart video surveillance is developed. To improve acceptance different technical components are designed and implemented. Lastly they are integrated into a prototype for fall detection in hospital environments and evaluated for the acceptance. The book combined theoretical work on understanding acceptance with practical work into developing new systems.

Der Aufbau einer leistungsstarken Gleichstrom-Schnellladeinfrastruktur ist ein Schlüsselfaktor für den Erfolg der Elektromobilität. Diese Arbeit verbessert bestehende Regelungsverfahren der eingesetzten aktiver Gleichrichter, minimiert die Anforderungen an den Netzanschlusspunkt und gestattet die aktive Filterung der Spannungsqualität. Eine maßstabsgetreue Nachbildung eines solchen Schnellladesystems stellt die Validierung des Forschungsansatzes sicher. The roll-out of a high-performance DC electric vehicle supply equipment infrastructure is a key factor for the success of electric mobility. This work enhances existing control schemes for active rectifiers utilized in charging systems, resulting in minimized requirements for network connection. In addition, active power quality filtering is achieved. The proposed control concept is experimentally validated using a fast charger system.

Multidimensional imaging techniques provide powerful ways to examine various kinds of scientific questions. The routinely produced data sets in the terabyte-range, however, can hardly be analyzed manually and require an extensive use of automated image analysis. The present work introduces a new concept for the estimation and propagation of uncertainty involved in image analysis operators and new segmentation algorithms that are suitable for terabyte-scale analyses of 3D+t microscopy images.

A project planning and decision support model is developed and applied to identify and reduce risk and uncertainty in deconstruction project planning. It allows calculating building inventories based on sensor information and construction standards and it computes robust project plans for different scenarios with multiple modes, constrained renewable resources and locations. A reactive and flexible planning element is proposed in the case of schedule infeasibility during project execution.

Optische Antennen sind metallische Nanostrukturen, deren resonantes Verhalten gezielt beeinflusst werden kann. In dieser Arbeit werden optische Antennen aus Aluminium und Gold hergestellt, optisch charakterisiert sowie numerisch unter Verwendung der FDTD-Methode untersucht. Aluminium erlaubt Resonanzen bis ins UV, bildet jedoch eine Oxidschicht, welche die Antennenantwort modifiziert. Die Ergebnisse der lokalen elektrischen Anregung nanoplasmonischer Strukturen werden erstmals vorgestellt. Optical antennas are metallic nanostructures showing a resonant behaviour which can be tuned at wish. In this work, optical antennas from aluminum and gold are fabricated, optically characterized and investigated numerically by FDTD methods. Aluminum allows resonances in the UV while it forms an oxide layer in air which alters the antenna response. For the first time, the results from a local electrial excitation of nanoplasmonic structures via STM is presented.
